Canada PR Visa
Canada PR-Express Entry/All PNPs
Express Entry is the fastest pathway towards applying for a Canadian permanent residence (PR) visa. If you are a skilled worker and want to immigrate to Canada, you first need to submit your application to the Express Entry pool. The applicant will be placed in the express entry pool; the applicant will be ranked based on age, qualification, work experience, adaptability, etc. This ranking system is known as the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System).
Please note that an Express Entry is not a PR application but an indication of your interest in being considered to apply for the PR visa. Therefore, if you submit your profile in the Express Entry pool, you will not be invited to apply for a PR visa.
The applicant’s selection in the Express Entry pool is based on the CRS score; having the highest CRS score in the Express Entry pool will increase their chances of getting an invitation to apply for PR. How to Apply for Canada Express Entry from India: – Step-by-Step Guide
The Express Entry process in Canada involves several steps. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you understand the process:
1) Determine Eligibility: Before you start the Express Entry process, determine your eligibility for one of the three federal immigration programs managed through Express Entry: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
2) Language Proficiency Test: Take an approved language proficiency test (English or French) and obtain the required scores. The results of this test are crucial for calculating your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
3) Educational Credential Assessment (ECA): If you completed your education outside of Canada, you may need to get your credentials assessed by an approved organization to ensure they are equivalent to Canadian standards.
4) Create an Express Entry Profile: Create an online Express Entry profile on the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. You will provide information about your skills, work experience, language proficiency, education, and other relevant details.
5). Receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: Your profile will be assigned a CRS score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and others. You will enter the pool of candidates, and your score will determine your ranking.
6) Provincial Nomination (Optional): If you are eligible for and interested in provincial nomination, you can express your interest in one or more provinces. Receiving a provincial nomination can significantly boost your CRS score.
7) Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA): Regular draws are conducted from the Express Entry pool, and candidates with the highest CRS scores receive invitations to apply for permanent residence. If you receive an ITA, you will have limited time to submit a complete application.
8) Submit a Permanent Residence Application: Once you receive an ITA, submit a complete application for permanent residence through the online system. You will need to provide supporting documents and pay the required fees.
9) Medical Exam and Police Clearance: Undergo a medical examination by an approved panel physician and obtain a police clearance certificate.
10) Decision on Permanent Residence: After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by immigration authorities. If everything is in order, you may receive a confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) and a permanent resident visa.
How to increase or improve the comprehensive ranking score or system (CRS
Migrating to Canada is an exciting opportunity but also a challenge. Simply being eligible for Canada Express entry is not enough for you to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Getting into the Express Entry pool doesn’t mean that you will receive an invitation to apply for a Canada PR visa.
The higher your CRS score, the better your chances of receiving an invitation. So, what can you do to get a higher CRS score?
Here are some quick tips that could help you increase your CRS score.
If your CRS score is unfavorable and you want to improve it, then the HW visa suggests you consider the following options:
1. Short-term options to increase the CRS Score:
a) Improving your English and French: Canada is a bilingual country, which means Canada has two official languages: English and French.
For English, you can write IELTS or CELPIP, and your English contributes a CRS score of 260/600. So, improving your language proficiency will not only increase your CRS score but also assist you in getting better jobs and opportunities in Canada. Try to score CLB 9 bands in the IELTS-General module; CLB 9 means you must have 7 bands in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Having competency in French will boost your CRS score; now, you can claim a 50 CRS score if you have a competent score in French. For the French language, you can take the TEF exam.
b) Change primary applicant: If you are married and planning to migrate to Canada with your spouse, check which one has more chances to get a higher CRS score. If a spouse is younger than you and has skilled experience post-qualification, make your spouse a primary applicant because age contributes to 110 CRS scores.
So, every couple should carefully review who should be the principal applicant.
c) Siblings In Canada: You can claim 15 points if you have a sibling in Canada based on a PR visa or citizenship.
d) Improve Your Partner’s First Language: Did you know that a spouse’s language ability is worth up to 20 CRS points in total if she can write an English language proficiency test, and you can add up to 20 points to your CRS through your partner’s first language scores?
e) Spouse Qualification ECA: You can take advantage of up to 10 points by getting ECA done for your spouse qualification if you plan on moving to Canada together with your spouse or common-law partner.
2. Long-term option to increase CRS score:
a) PNP Nomination: PNP is also a Fast-Track option to boost your CRS score up to 600; a PNP nomination increases your CRS score and speeds up your process.
b) Valid Job Offer Letter: If you have a valid job offer, you can get additional points. Securing a job offer from outside of Canada seems challenging but not impossible; obtaining a job offer letter supported by LMIA not only boosts your CRS score up to 200 but will also be a life-changing move.
